Witch hazel’s astringent actions, predominantly on the venous system, helps to tighten distended veins and tone the muscle organs such as the bladder and blood vessels walls, reduces inflammation and mucus discharge and stops bleeding. It is therefore an excellent remedy for damaged facial veins, bruising, varicose veins, haemorrhoids, and for toning prolapsed bladder.
Witch hazel is often used for cleansing and toning of the skin, and is also useful for inflamed and tender skin conditions such as eczema.
